The world of Tarmolith (pronounced Tarm-O-lith) was once home to numerous empires that stretched far across the lands and were powerful enough to change the course of rivers and level mountains. These ancient civilizations were well acquainted with both clerical and arcane magic. Testaments to their faith and advanced knowledge were reflected in elaborate cities, monuments, temples, and fortresses. These testaments now lie in ruins and are the only legacy of these ancient empires. Over the centuries, even these ruins have started to disappear, worn away by wind and rain.
Tarmolith is a world of temperate forests, vast plains, harsh tundra, majestic mountains, blazing deserts, and picturesque seashores. The ruins of the ancients are ever present, from weathered obelisks and ruined cities to the massive network of stone cobble roads and crumbling bridges that connect the continent. The skyscapes of Tarmolith are truly unique; massive floating lodestones, called Earthbergs, can be seen lazily hovering far above on cloudless days. While not numerous enough to block sunlight their unpredictable paths are a frequent enough sight on Tarmolith as to be commonplace. At night, the Earthbergs absorb and reflect the light of the Tarmolith’s silver and white moons – even on cloudy nights the nightscape of Tarmolith is never devoid of moonlight. The silver moon, Aura, and white moon, Radiance, orbit Tarmolith in unwavering parallel orbits. Meteorite showers often punctuate the night skies of Tarmolith and actual impacts, while rare, are not unheard of.
